Sedgwick Community Emergency Plan

The aim of a Community Emergency Plan is to increase the resilience of a local community before, during and after emergencies and to link to and support local and regional structures already established by the Emergency Services, and local and district councils.

Sedgwick has developed a Community Emergency Plan to help minimise the impact of a major local emergency on residents.

In event of a major emergency, contact our
Community Response Group

Coordinator Gerry Stoker - 4 Wakefield Meadow, Tel 60939
Richard Gill - Old School House, Tel 60116
Boyan Holmes - The Oaks, Tel 61644

Our Emergency Control Point is Sedgwick Village Hall

In an emergency always
Dial 999

TELL THE OPERATOR WHICH
EMERGENCY SERVICE YOU REQUIRE
FIRE, POLICE, AMBULANCE, COASTGUARD,
 CAVE RESCUE, MOUNTAIN RESCUE

Use 999 when someone is in danger, a crime is in
progress or a suspect is nearby.

If you need to call 999
PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME AMBULANCES, FIRE ENGINES AND OTHER EMERGENCY VEHICLES MAY BE TOO LARGE TO PASS UNDER SEDGWICK AQUEDUCT
This has been the case for some time and we have been reassured us that all local emergency teams are familiar with the height and width restrictions in our area.
However, if you do have to call the Emergency Services, it seems sensible to make doubly sure they know which side of the aqueduct a vehicle is needed.

Dial 101
to contact your local police if a situation is not an immediate emergency
Your Police Community Support Officer is:
Martin Boak 5251 Email: martin.boak@cumbria.police.uk

Household Emergency Plans

The ability of a community to respond to and recover from emergencies is closely linked to how well individuals and households can respond. We also strongly recommend residents to make their own Household Emergency Plans.
For advice from Cumbria County Council, click here  or use their template to make your own household emergency plan.
