The Information Board that used to be located on top of the Aqueduct, fell into dispepair and was given to a resident by the Canal and River Trust who owned it. It has been lovingly restored by two volunteers and has been relocated by the lovely Jubilee Garden at the foot of the aqueduct steps. Many thanks to them. It oulines a brief history of the canal and explains about the very unusual design of the Aqueduct which is a "Skew Bridge" and when, how and why it was built. The drawings give a good impression of what the Aqueduct and canal looked like in its heyday when it was watered and was used by passenger and freight boats.
